I read a post over at Mashable today entitled Facebook Now Recommends Friends and stopped by Facebook shortly after to see what the buzz was about. As you probably guessed, Facebook looks at who your friends are connecting with and sees who they have in common that you haven’t yet added. If you’re friends with Carrie and Dan and they both added Susie as a friend but you haven’t, Facebook suggests that you might know her. Simple enough, right?
My first friend that was suggested is in fact someone I know. I have added my girlfriend as a friend and then as I met the girls she grew up with, I added them as friends. It’s no surprise then that they all know the same person from their high school so Facebook thinks that I know that person. I don’t, so I move on to suggestion #2.
Hold on to your seats, folks. Things are about to get weird.

Read on to see how I do it and be sure to leave a comment with your own insights!

I started this blog as an attempt to help people and share some of the knowledge I’ve learned along the way. In the beginning, one of the greatest tools I had to get this information out there was to submit my stories to the popular site Digg.com.
I had four of my stories hit Digg’s […]

Today is the big day for Apple fans. Steve Jobs will deliver his much anticipated keynote at Macworld 2008 and hopefully deliver some news about great new Apple products. The Macworld conference almost always delivers some upgrade to existing Mac computers and often some new models are released which brings a surge to sales. With so many people buying their first Mac computer these days, I put together a list that I hope will help get new users up and running in a hurry. This is by no means an exhaustive list but rather a list that works well for me. If you’re an Apple user, please share with everyone anything I’ve missed in the comment section below so we can help get our new friends comfortable with their new systems.
